Update an API key

Replaces a secret key's project permissions, keeping its secret; null gives it full access.

The editor must hold every permission the key has before and after the change. Only a person signed in to the Voidhash dashboard can do this; a secret key, a CLI key or an MCP client cannot.

Guide: API keys

PATCH
/api/v1/projects/{projectId}/api-keys/{apiKeyId}

Authorization

AuthorizationBearer <token>

A project secret key: vh_sk_... for production, vh_sk_test_... for test. Keep it on your servers.

In: header

Path parameters

projectId*string

The project's id, proj_.... A secret key works only in the project it belongs to.

apiKeyId*string

The key's id: api_sk_... for a secret key, api_pk_... for a publishable key.

Request body

application/json

TypeScript definitions

Use the request body type in TypeScript.

scopes?array<>|

The project permissions the key is limited to from now on; null gives it full access. You must hold every permission the key has before and after the change.
