Create a service account key
Create the Google Cloud service account key Voidhash uses to verify Google Play purchases.
Voidhash calls the Google Play Developer API as a service account with access to your app. You upload the account's JSON key.
- In Google Cloud Console, select or create a project. Open APIs & Services → Library and enable the Google Play Android Developer API.
- Open IAM & Admin → Service Accounts. Create a service account, or pick one, and copy its email address.
- In Play Console, open Users and permissions → Invite new
users. Enter the email, give it access to your app, and grant:
- View financial data, orders, and cancellation survey responses
- Manage orders and subscriptions
- Back in Google Cloud, open the service account and choose Keys → Add key → Create new key → JSON. Your browser downloads the file.
- In Studio, on the Service account tab, upload the file as the Service account key file and click Save changes.
Voidhash reads each order to record what the buyer paid, so an introductory price counts at its discounted amount. Without financial data access, purchases still grant access, but a paid introductory period records no revenue.
Upload the whole service account file, not a Firebase google-services.json. If you can't create
keys, ask your Cloud administrator to check your role and the organization policy.
The file holds a private key. Keep it out of your app and source control. Google offers the download only once; if you lose it, create another key.
